What happens when you mix no-name vanilla pudding, powdered milk, and tepid tap water in a ziploc bag? You get simulated astronaut food, of course.

Skibbie kneaded her ingredients in her hot little hands, making what was room temperature pudding even warmer.



With the kneading completed, it was time to taste it.

I tasted it. It wasn't THAT bad.

The teachers had some pretty cool experiments to get the kids thinking about the challenges that astronauts face in space.

In one situation, the kids had to hold a rope and move the bottle on the wooden block from one spot to another. I think the point was to show how sensitive the instruments are and how all the team members must work together for a successful result.

In this "shuttle", the kids had to follow directions from Mission Control, a group of kids on a microphone trying to talk over all the fans blowing to keep this plastic bubble inflated.

There were other experiments like building rockets out of toilet paper tubes, but let's face it, once you've eaten warm, reconstituted no-name pudding from a baggie.....you are kinda thankful that you're not an astronaut.

I've heard the accountants eat well.
