Once upon a time, there was a boy

who met a girl.
They planned and planned. The girl picked out her wedding dress all by herself (no mother or friends to help) and chose the first one she tried on, all while the sales ladies wondered in loud whispers why no one was there to help her. Little did they know that since the girl was paying for the dress herself, she wanted to pick it out by herself.
She was pressured by her mother to have her bridesmaids dresses made by a seamstress her mother knew. She picked out a plum color that "flattered everyone". The seamstress could only finish a few of the dresses, leaving the last one to be finished by the old lady that lived in the apartment next to the girl. That explains why one purple dress was shorter than the rest.
The boy made deposits on the banquet room at the hotel, but the chef who owned the catering portion of the banquet hall went out of business 18 days before the wedding. The boy was REALLY angry when he found out, so he searched out the chef at his new job at another hotel. The boy threatened the chef in the dining room of the new hotel, then threw a big glass of tea in the chef's face with all the patrons watching. Then the boy called the chef's wife and informed her of the chef's behavior, she brought a check to the boy's house the next day.
Finally, the day of the wedding arrived, November 23, 1991.
The boy and girl gathered their families

and friends to witness their most important day.
The girl put on her love-at-first-try-on dress.
Took her daddy's arm
and walked down the aisle to marry that boy who threw tea in the face of the chef in order to save the girl's wedding reception.
After all the hoo-ha of the wedding, the boy and girl hopped into their carriage and rode away into the sunset.
They went to the saved reception. And they drank A LOT of champagne before they got there.
And they drank a lot when they got there.

And they drank even more when they cut the cake.
And they drank a lot when they got there.

And they drank even more when they cut the cake.
And by the time it was time to remove the garter
and throw the bouquet, the girl didn't care that the dresses were purple or that only two of her single friends jumped for the bouquet (they all knew the stories of the wedding, so they decided that marriage wasn't really worth it). She decided that she would just owe her bridesmaids a debt of gratitude for the rest of her life.
