Memorial Day, first known as Decoration Day, was enacted to remember Union soldiers after the The War of Northern Aggression. Most Southerners never celebrated it - and some don't even to this day. Eventually, Memorial Day was renamed as such, the government decided to make it a national holiday, and it became known as the day we remember all soldiers of war (both foreign and domestic).
So today, we pause to reflect on those who go into battle on behalf of America and her leaders.... Brave men and women, and the families they leave behind. We say,
Thank You.
We Remember You.
We Value You.
We Owe You.
