HIGH AND DRY! Praise be to God!

Hallelujah! Mama and Granddaddy made it to the Island. They passed all the checkpoints and were at the house by 10 am. The house is dry. No broken windows. No roof leaks. Lots of debris in the yard. The garage took about a foot of water. The floor boards of the car are wet, but it started up just fine.

They are cleaning out the refrigerators and taking photos for insurance. They passed out the food, water and ice they brought for the neighbors. They are so happy and relieved (the neighbors and my parents).

Thanks to everyone for your prayers, calls and concern. We will continue to offer prayers of thanksgiving and praise.

Holy cow, that is AMAZING! I am SO happy & relieved... the media coverage that we get up in the crazy north wasn't giving us very much hope that they would have anything left. What a blessing! YAY.... By the way - what's the word on "buddy".... did he make it through the storm? Last I heard he was going to ride it out in the sun porch...

Buddy is on the sun porch. He is getting leash trained, whether he likes it or not. We'll turn him into a city dog eventually. (And Gary likes his new roommate.)

How many have Peeped here?
